Senators fans probably don’t need another reason to cheer for a win Saturday night, but thanks to the Hamburglar, they’ve got one.
The team announced saturday that if the Senators beat the Toronto Maple Leafs, tickets to the game will be redeemable for a free regular hamburger at McDonald’s on Sunday.
That’s all thanks to Andrew Hammond, a.k.a. the Hamburglar, whose improbable 12-0-1 run in goal has backstopped the Senators back into the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
The Senators did a similar promotion for their March 6 game against the Buffalo Sabres. Tickets to that game were redeemable for a free McDonald’s hamburger, win or lose. (The Senators won anyway, 3-2).
At Thursday night’s game against the Bruins, the first 10,000 fans in the door got free Hamburglar masks.
The Senators said there are fewer than 500 tickets remaining for Saturday’s game.
The promotion is in addition to the usual “Big Mac Minute,” in which fans can redeem their tickets for a free Big Mac if the Senators score in the final minute of the game.
So if the Sens win and score in the last minute, that’s two free burgers for everyone.
