The second day of Patrick Brazeau’s assault and sex assault trial began with his accuser detailing how the suspended senator allegedly tripped her down a stairwell, pushed her head against the floor and a wall, then forced her to leave the home semi-clothed.

The woman who can’t be named under a court order first went to a police station wearing only jeans, a camisole and coat on that February night in 2013.

Later, police allowed her to return to the Gatineau house where the events allegedly happened to collect a few more clothes for herself and the kids, and to erase some sex tapes that showed her on a video camera. She says she was afraid of what Brazeau might do with them.

Speaking through an interpreter she also added details to the story of that attack which she described Monday.

Much of it happened on the stairs in the home.

“He took me by the head and hit me against the wall,” she testified.

She said the senator, now suspended, stuck out his leg as she tried to go downstairs and she fell over it.

She got up and tried to continue downstairs but says Brazeau grabbed her and pushed her head against the floor and the wall.

The woman says she tried to use the home phone but it was disconnected. So she went into the bathroom and called 911 from her cellphone.

On Tuesday, she dabbed her eyes with a tissue as the court played that call, a sometimes confusing conversation where she had trouble answering questions in French. She did, however, identify Brazeau by name in the call. Her voice seems to be gasping or crying.

“I was very afraid,” she told the Gatineau court.

Police took seven photos of her to show her physical condition that night but spectators can’t see them from their seats.

More coming.
