Ottawa police are negotiating with an assault suspect who has barricaded themselves inside a Hintonburg apartment.
The individual is on the seventh floor of an Ottawa Community Housing building at 395 Parkdale Ave., near Wellington Street.
Inspector Mike Maloney said that at 1:22 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to an assault call in the area. The victim of the alleged assault was brought to the hospital.
At 6:30 p.m., the suspect was still barricaded inside the apartment.
“Negotiations are ongoing,” Maloney said.
Police warned of traffic delays in the area.
