A 28-year-old man was charged with murder Monday after the body of a woman was found at a home in Cornwall.
The 52-year-old woman “suffered visible trauma,” Cornwall police said in a statement regarding their ongoing investigation.
The woman was found inside a house in Cornwall on Carleton Street, near the Walton Street intersection, shortly after 9 a.m.
“They were known to each other,” said police spokesman Const. Dan Cloutier.
According to news reports, she’d been stabbed, but an autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
Meanwhile, the accused remains in custody, police said.
The names both the victim and the suspect were not released, and won’t be until relatives are contacted.
