Welcome to the Bandwagon, the everyfan’s guide to the Sens in the playoffs.
Okay, so last night could have gone better. Things were looking good when Patrick Wiercioch tied the game 2-2 in the third period. And overtime was encouraging. Then one bad turnover and wobbly puck later, the Senators were down 2-0 to Montreal and need to win at home to make this a series again.
For the gory details from last night, read our live blog here.
But as we awake to the glorious dawn, we are aware that the Senators’ fight is ongoing. And more importantly, the city’s residents continue to jump aboard the bandwagon.

In honour of Senators goaltender Andrew Hammond, the Hintonburger on Wellington Street West has adopted a new name. It and other Ottawa restaurants also have some special Hammond items on their menus.
OK, that’s reason enough
Talk about torn loyalties.
Barrie Murray, 74, is older brother to Bryan, the Ottawa Senators GM. The two seem close. Barrie says he and his wife Sandra, who live in the Murray bastion of Shawville, about 80 kilometres west of Ottawa, have attended many Sens home games this year, courtesy of their, ahem, connection.
So, how to replay the immense generosity? Well, there Barrie was one morning last week at Hursty’s Bar and Grill on Main Street, joined by a number of local lads, talking hockey. And he was wearing his true colours: a navy blue Buffalo Sabres jacket. But he had a sound explanation. His son Tim is general manager of the Buffalo team and, on home visits to the Pontiac, tends to shower Dad with Sabres gear.
Touché, as the swordsmen say.
