The girlfriend of a teenager stabbed to death was supported by her brothers as she told a packed church Thursday that she feels like her heart has been ripped from her chest.
“You completed me,” Kaitlin Abbott said during the funeral for Connor Stevenson. “Nobody will ever replace you.”
Nearly 300 family members and friends filed into Rothwell United Church to pay their respects to Stevenson, a young man friends described as a genuine person and a “giant among giants.”
Friends wiped away tears as they eulogized their friend they say was taken too young.

Connor Stevenson, shown here on his prom night with girlfriend Kaitlin Abbott , was stabbed to death this week.
Rev. Mike Perreault assured Stevenson’s family that they wouldn’t grieve his death alone.
“We don’t want to be here today,” Perreault said. “Connor was taken suddenly.”

Grieving family and friends embrace after the funeral Thursday for Connor Stevenson at Rothwell United Church in Beacon Hill.
Stevenson, 18, was stabbed several times in the chest and abdomen on April 14 in the sixth-floor stairwell of the east-side apartment building where he lived at 2020 Jasmine Cres.
Stevenson was without vital signs, lying in a pool of blood, when first responders arrived after a man had tried to resuscitate him.
He was pronounced dead at the Montfort Hospital.

The Ottawa Police Major Crime section is seeking to identify two individuals who may have important information related to a homicide on Jasmine Cres. Connor Stevenson died as a result of injuries sustained at that address on April 14th 2015 in the late afternoon.

Police have no made any arrests or publicly identified suspects in the case. However, they did release two photos of a man and woman who are believed to have knowledge of the killing.
Stevenson was a member of the Gloucester High School rugby team, played football for the North Gloucester Giants, and worked at a Montreal Road Tim Hortons.
On Thursday, police continued searching the wooded areas surrounding Jasmine Crescent for the knife believed to have been used to stab Stevenson. That search began in the hours immediately after the killing.
Lead investigator Sgt. Richard Dugal said police were covering ground that had yet to be searched.
