Ottawa police investigate suspicious package at Elgin Street headquarters

Ottawa police continue to investigate a suspicious package reported at 1:30 p.m. that forced the closing of police headquarters on Elgin Street to the public for more than 30 minutes on Wednesday.

A grid of surrounding roads was also shut while the probe continued.

Police would not describe the package.

The investigation continues.
