Ottawa – Join us for Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 10 at your favorite City of Ottawa museum. Each museum has put together a special day of unique activities for the moms in your life, while providing an opportunity to spend time together as a family.

Billings Estate National Historic Site

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cost: $6/person, $5/student or senior, $15/family

Come celebrate mom at the museum. Enjoy the grounds and pack a picnic lunch. Then explore our new temporary exhibition “From Settlers to Skyscrapers: the making of a capital city.”

*Please note that tea reservations are full. If space becomes available, walk-ins will be accepted.

Cumberland Heritage Village Museum

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: $7/person, $5/student or senior, $18/family

This is the perfect Mother’s Day outing that the whole family will love. Make mom feel extra special with a mini-makeover, celebrate the contributions mothers make to their family and community through interactive activities, and pose for fun photos at photo stations set-up throughout the site. Take a break and enjoy a “pink tea” in our picnic shelter to give mom a chance to relax and show her how much you appreciate her.

Fairfields Heritage House

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Cost: $6/person, $10/pair, $16/family

Celebrate your mom while learning about the Bell family women at our Mother’s Day tea service and garden party. Kids can venture into the house to make a special Mother’s Day card using the traditional technique of quilling.

Nepean Museum

1 to 4 p.m.
Cost: by donation

Show mom you appreciate all that she does with lemonade and cupcakes. Take time to make her some flowers. Together, you can discover other remarkable moms from Nepean, like Mary Honeywell, Ida Long and Ruth E. Dickinson.

Pinhey’s Point Historic Site

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: $6/person, $10/pair, $16/family

What better way to celebrate mom than at our opening event of the season, Mother’s Day. Spend quality time with mom as you learn how to arrange flowers inspired by the Victorian era. You will learn a little, play and little, and make some terrific memories as a family.

City of Ottawa museums and historic sites let you play in the past and make memories for the future by offering a wide array of themed events, hands-on activities and interactive exhibits. Check out what is happening this year at your favourite location.
