Ottawa Fire Services personnel came to the rescue of a man who was stranded on rocks in the Ottawa River rapids near Parkdale Avenue Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services received a number of calls from witness who spotted the man who was apparently in distress.
Upon arrival, firefighters determined the man, holding a “boogie board” shortened surfboard, was not injured but was stuck on rocks in the fast-moving current.
A rescue boat was launched upriver to get to the man and he was pulled to safety.
