An Ottawa man has been accused of breaking into vehicles and stealing items around the Little Italy neighbourhood.
On Sunday just after 7 a.m, officers were called to Aberdeen Street and Preston Street, after receiving complaints that a man was breaking into cars.
A suspect was found and arrested.
Further investigation by police revealed that numerous other vehicles had been broken into between May 1 and May 10 in the Preston Street and Rochester Street areas.
John McGee, 52, of Ottawa is facing charges of mischief, theft, attempted theft, possession of break-in instruments and possession of stolen property.
Police are reminding the public not to leave valuable items in their vehicles, and, in the event suspicious activity is spotted, to call police.
