Ottawa police are looking for a bearded bandit — unless, of course, he’s shaved since — who robbed a man at a bank machine on Montreal Road.
The suspect followed the victim into a bank vestibule at about 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, and waited for the man to withdraw money before producing a knife and demanding the cash. The suspect fled on foot.
He’s described as white, in his 20s, approximately five-nine (175 centimetres), with skinny build, dark hair and a beard. He wore a hooded jacket and jeans shorts.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police robbery unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5116 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
