A Gatineau man was re-arrested Wednesday after immediately violating the conditions of his release once he was let out of custody, Gatineau police say.
The 19-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for alleged assault and sexual assault. He appeared in court Wednesday morning, and was released with the conditions not to approach the complainant or their home.
Police said the man left the courthouse and headed to the complainant’s home, where he was met by police and arrested. Police said they were worried about the complainant’s safety.
Const. Andrée East said police would not be saying how they had figured out he was heading to the home.
The accused was held at the police station following his second arrest and appeared in court Thursday on charges of breach of undertaking.
Police didn’t release the name of the accused.
