Ottawa police were seeking public assistance in locating Nicola Colasante, 57, of Ottawa after the man’s empty boat was found on the Rideau River near Highway 416 on Friday morning.
Police said the man’s personal belongings were found inside the abandoned craft.
Colasante is described as caucasian, five feet eight inches tall. He weighs about 200 pounds and has short grey hair, balding on top. He was last seen wearing beige shorts, a white T-shirt and brown flip-flops.
A family member last spoke to Colasante at about 10 a.m. Friday.
