A 45-year-old Kingston man is to face charges including arson and attempted murder after allegedly setting fire to a house trailer following a fight with a man and a woman early Saturday.

Ontario Provincial Police were called to a trailer park on Bath Road in Millhaven just after midnight. They found a house trailer engulfed in flames and tracker dogs found the suspect about 200 metres away.

Investigators determined that the suspect had allegedly assaulted a man and woman in the trailer.

The woman was later treated for minor injuries at hospital.

It remains unclear whether the trio was inside the trailer when the suspect, whose identity was not released, allegedly set the fire.

The suspect is to face a number of charges including three counts of attempted murder and arson in disregard of human life. He also faces a number of charges of breaching parole conditions.

He is being held pending a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice Monday.

The Office of the Fire Marshall is assisting with the investigation.
