Police standoff closes Bank Street at MacLaren

Ottawa police closed a portion of Bank Street and the police tactical squad was called in after a confrontation Tuesday afternoon with a man who may be armed with a knife.

Bank Street was closed between MacLaren and Gilmour streets a little after 4:30 p.m.

Police were advising the public to stay clear of the area.

Paramedics were also at the scene.
