The Canada Science and Technology Museum is getting a facelift and looking for public input on its plans, which include a new interior and exterior design and ideas for new exhibitions and programs.
Designers, architects, and staff are working on the master plan’s first sketches and have opened an online survey for public consultations.
People can also visit temporary booths set up by the museum at different times. This weekend, consulting booths will be at St. Laurent Shopping Centre on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Next weekend, there will be input opportunities between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum on June 13, or at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum on June 14.
The survey takes 8-10 minutes to complete and includes extensive sketches and descriptions about the proposed plans and designs.
The museum, housed in a former bakery building on St. Laurent Boulevard, was forced to close last September because of mould that contaminated the air.
The museum plans to reopen in 2017. While the Museum is closed for renovation, artifacts, education programs, activities, and demonstrations are being showcased at different venues across the country.
Those wishing to participate have until June 20 to fill out the online or paper surveys. Additional information and further opportunities for feedback can be found on the museum’s website at techno-science.ca.
