An 83-year-old man was killed Thursday when his car collided with a dumptruck on Boyne Road in North Dundas Township, about 50 kilometres southeast of Ottawa.
Ontario Provincial Police say Carmel Donn Smirl of North Stormont Township was driving westbound at about 1:30 p.m. when his vehicde collided with the heavy truck driven by a 61-year-old South Dundas man.
Smirl was pronounced dead at hospital.
The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital also.
The investigation continues.
