There’s a lot going on in Ottawa that you might not have heard about yet. All sorts of things. It’s June, after all.

Friday, June 5

Art rock band Pony Girl is accessible and fun (though they may not enjoy being described that way) with a six- to ten-musician configuration, fronted by the luscious vocals of Pascal Huot, so go see them at the Black Sheep Inn, 8:30 p.m. Tickets: $10. theblacksheepinn.com

Want to dance? Rockers The Balconies and electro-pop group Fevers play a free concert at the opening event of new venue LIVE on Elgin, 9 p.m., 220 Elgin St. (above Dunn’s). www.liveonelgin.com

For some funk via indie-rock and reggae, see six-piece band Nile Groove and Bluestone, with The Memphis Moonshine, 9 p.m., The Rainbow Bistro. Tickets: $10. www.nilegroove.com

This is *the* event tonight, a nod back to our (OK, my) purple corduroy, bobble-elastic, white-skates-with-red-wheels days at Roller Disco Night, 6 p.m., Rideau Curling Club, 715 Cooper St. Admission: $10, free for kids 12 and under, $5 rentals — but there are limited sizes, and few for children. (Also sip your drinks in the lounge, perfect for posing in your sparkly finery.) facebook.com
