A 66-year-old Gatineau woman will be charged with impaired driving after her car struck a Hydro-Québec pole, knocking out power to hundreds of homes, police said.
The driver escaped injury in the collision on Moreau Street shortly after 9 p.m. Tests revealed that her blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal maximum, police said.
Police did not name the woman, who was released on a promise to appear in court.
