Ottawa police closed the intersection of Franktown and Ashton Station roads to investigate a “serious collision” that sent three people to hospital Friday.
The Collision Investigation Unit was at the scene in rural southwest Ottawa hours after a single-vehicle crash at 5:30 p.m. that resulted in the car landing on its roof, according to the Ottawa police and fire departments.
When firefighters arrived, two of the vehicle’s occupants had evacuated, while one female remained trapped in the car with a possible head injury. She was removed from the vehicle 25 minutes later.
Paramedics assessed two patients at the scene, while the third, who had been found in the vehicle, was airlifted to hospital.
