Resident files campaign finance complaints against three councillors

An Ottawa resident who earlier this month requested election compliance audits of the 2014 campaign finances of three city councillors has added to his list. Pat Ready filed complaints against councillors Stephen Blais, Eli El-Chantiry and Mathieu Fleury. The city’s compliance audit committee (struck last year as prescribed by provincial election rules) must meet within 30 days — in this case, July 23 — to decide whether to recommend that the audits be undertaken. About a week ago, Ready also filed complaints against councillors Riley Brockington, Shad Qadri and Mark Taylor.
