An 83-year-old man has died of injuries from a weekend collision in which his sports car plowed into a group of motorcyclists, killing two of them.

Lawrence Harper, of Brighton, Ont., died in hospital Wednesday, Ontario Provincial Police in Prince Edward County said.

Harper’s Mazda Miata crossed into oncoming traffic Saturday on the Loyalist Parkway near Belleville, Ont., striking three of eight motorcyclists who had earlier participated in a rally for a Canadian veterans group. Wayne Boone, 58, a retired university professor from Ottawa, and Darren Philip Williams, 46, of Quinte West were killed and a 65-year-old man was injured. A female passenger, 80, in the car also suffered serious injuries.

Police say their investigation continues and asked that anyone with information about the crash call them at 1-888-310-1122.
