Travellers with flights booked out of Toronto on Friday have been advised to check their flight status due to what officials are calling a “disruption between the airlines and their fuelling company” at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
Air Canada flights bound to arrive in Ottawa at 8 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. have been cancelled.
Other flights from Toronto to Ottawa throughout the day appeared to be unaffected, though passengers are advised to check for any possible delays.
An Ottawa International Airport spokeswoman said disruptions in Ottawa were “minimal.”
“It seems to be minimal,” said Krista Kealey. “Who knows, with a labour dispute, you wait and see and hope that they can get it resolved. But so far, I’m happy that it seems to be minimal.”
The delays at Pearson started around 6:30 a.m. Friday morning.
“Due to a labour disruption between the airlines and their fuelling company there may be some delays and cancellations today,” airport officials said in a tweet.
A spokesman for Air Canada said a labour dispute at Consolidated Aviation Fueling of Toronto is affecting “all airlines at Pearson.”
“Delays and cancellations can be expected as a result and passengers should check on the status of their flight before getting to the airport,” Peter Fitzpatrick said in an email.
The majority of flights departing Pearson airport after 10 a.m. on Friday were listed on time.
