Ottawa Fire Services said no one was injured in a fire early Sunday morning in a commercial building under construction in Vanier.
A passerby alerted firefighters to smoke coming from 444 Montreal Road, an old car dealership, at about 3:34 a.m.
No one was in the building at the time. Firefighters had the fire under control by about 4:16 a.m. and the cause is being investigated.
Ottawa police said the road was not closed to traffic.
