An early morning fire on Merivale Road left a car torched and caused thousands in damages, Ottawa fire says.
At 4:46 a.m., Ottawa fire received calls about a vehicle on fire beneath a garage overhang at 1042 Merivale Road.
Fire crews arrived on scene roughly five minutes later and began battling the blaze which had spread to a balcony above the garage.
Occupants within the building were evacuated and the fire was doused by about 5:20 a.m. There were no injuries.
Ottawa fire estimates the blaze caused $150,000 in damages. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
