Emergency services responded to a crash on the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway Sunday night that left a woman trapped in her car.
Ottawa fire said the call came in from a person who was driving by at 9:19 p.m., and paramedics confirmed to them that an extrication was needed.
The crash happened at the parkway and Island Park Drive.
The vehicle had hit a tree and was reported on its side with the roof crushed on the passenger side.
Fire crews removed the roof of the vehicle at 9:47 p.m. and rescued the driver. She was then transported to hospital.
