Two Ottawa police constables pleaded guilty to misconduct charges under the Police Services Act in back-to-back disciplinary hearings Friday.
Const. Steven Forsythe, a member of the tactical unit who is currently assigned to the airport unit, pleaded guilty to one count of discreditable conduct for using his force email and force-issued phone to send sexual images. The prosecution and defence jointly asked for a penalty of six days’ pay.
Const. Welden Holder, a west division patrol officer, pleaded guilty to two counts of breaching the national police database system to look up the details surrounding a family member who had been arrested. The prosecution and defence jointly asked for a penalty of five days’ pay.
A hearing officer has yet to rule on either officer’s penalty.
