Someone in the capital region is $1 million richer today, but unless you bought your Lotto Max ticket in Quebec, you didn’t win the near-record $55 million up for grabs Friday night.
The big prize was the second largest jackpot in Canadian history.
There were also 30 $1 million prizes up for grabs and 10 of them were winners, including one in the Ottawa area.
The largest jackpot ever was a Lotto 6-49 draw Apr. 13, 2013, a jackpot of $63.4 million for which four tickets had been sold.
The jackpot for next Friday’s Lotto Max draw will be approximately $30 million.
