Shoppers are being advised to stay away from Rideau Street between Sussex Drive and Nicholas Street this weekend as workers proceed with the demolition of the west pedestrian skyway linking the Rideau Centre to the Bay store.
A work group being led by Cadillac Fairview, owners of the Centre, will begin the project Friday at 10 p.m.
The street is expected to reopen Tuesday at 10 p.m.

“With all of the construction-related activities underway, residents are encouraged to be flexible with commuting times, stagger work hours or use alternative means for travel,” the city advises.
