When coming to a red light that had just turned red (let's say you're in 4th gear), should you just throw the car in Neutral and just coast into a stop only using the break? Or is there a better way to do it?

I put it in neutral and brake. Normally, you should downshift if you are still some distance away from the light.

Just put it in neutral and brake. Downshifting through gears puts more wear and tear on your transmission although it helps you brake. But transmission is way more expensive than brake pads, right?

Putting the gear in Neutral early will lost the control of the car. Someone said the right way is staying at the current gear and breaking to around 5-15 mph till it almost starts dragging, and then put the car in Neutral and use the brake to come to a complete stop. I also think it make sense.

I agree with this. No need to downshift unless you see red trun green before you fully stopped. Put in Neutral shorten your time when you need to dodge something, and is hard to stop when going downhill.
