Off-peak lane reductions on Highway 174 east of 10th Line start Monday

Ottawa – Work will begin Monday, July 27 to replace large lighting fixtures on 11 high-mast poles located on Highway 174, from 10th Line Road to one kilometre east of 10th Line. The new fixtures will provide better lighting around the 174 / 10th Line interchange including all the on and off ramps, resulting in greater safety for motorists.

To do this work safely, crews will need to reduce the lanes in both directions around the poles they are working on. To minimize traffic impact, the work will be done during off-peak hours over a period of three weeks. Work is expected to be finished by August 17, weather permitting.

With all of the construction-related activities underway, residents are encouraged to be flexible with commuting times, stagger work hours or use alternative means for travel. The public is asked to consider options such as transit, walking, cycling or carpooling.
