The missing man who police were trying to locate in the Conroy Pit area for almost two days has been found “alive and safe,” Ottawa police tweeted Saturday.
Police did not provide any other details on the matter.
Police and paramedics had been searching the area near Hunt Club and Conroy roads Friday, for missing Hung-Kai Cheng, 32, who was spotted twice in the area Thursday.
Cheng’s family had last heard from him Wednesday morning in the area of Sable Ridge Drive.
Police said Cheng was seen Thursday carrying what appeared to be a “collector’s sword.” He was not “acting in a threatening manner.”
Police combed the woods overnight on Thursday, then continued into Friday, before suspending the search Friday night. The search continued Saturday morning.
Ottawa police duty inspector tweeted at 10:30 a.m. that Cheng had been found safe.
