Ottawa police have laid four new charges against a 65-year-old man who is accused of approaching women and forcefully attempting to kiss them.

Narinder Jain was initially charged following an investigation into several complaints of a man approaching women during daytime hours in the area of Longfields Drive in Barrhaven. Police said on July 8th and 9th, the suspect approached three separate females in and around the Longfields Transit Station in Barrhaven. On the morning of July 10, he was in the area of Longfields-Davidson Heights secondary school, where he tried to kiss a woman who was with her baby.

Police said when the man was confronted about his actions by the women he was attempting to kiss, he would begin speaking in a foreign language in what appeared to be an attempt to explain his actions.

Jain is facing four new counts of sexual assault on a person under the age of 16. He is expected to appear in court Monday.

Police are asking anyone who may have additional information about the alleged assaults to call the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section at 613-236-1222 ext. 5944.
