Representatives from Enbridge Gas as well as emergency responders were on the scene of a natural gas leak in downtown Ottawa Wednesday morning after a backhoe accidentally struck a gas line while digging.
Police asked travellers to avoid the area on Metcalfe Street between Lisgar and Gloucester streets while crews worked to fix the damage.
No buildings have been evacuated as a result of the leak, officials said.
