The City of Gatineau has issued a boil-water advisory for part of the Hull sector, following a break in a fire hydrant valve. The malfunction affects about 2,000 people and has caused an interruption in the water supply to residences, businesses and government buildings.
The streets affected are rue Champlain between boulevard Sacré-Coeur and Hwy. 5; rue Marston; rue Notre-Dame-de-l’Île between Marston and Sacré-Coeur; rue Laurier between boulevard des Allumettières and Sacré-Coeur; and rue Verdun between rue Laurier and rue Notre-Dame-de-l’Île.
Additionally, the northbound lane on rue Laurier has been closed.
The water supply has been cut off to facilitate repairs. Once it is restored, customers should boil their tap water for one minute before consuming it.
Click here for the City of Gatineau’s website, where an update will appear once the advisory is lifted.
