A Gatineau man convicted more than 10 times for driving while suspended was charged again early Tuesday after police spotted a vehicle with licence plates taken from another vehicle.
Police ran the licence plate of a vehicle stopped on the side of the road near Victoria Street and Notre Dame Island just before 1 a.m. Police discovered the plates belonged to another car.
When police identified the driver, they realized he was banned from driving following an impaired driving conviction.
Bert Fernand Lemieux, 57, was arrested and charged with driving while disqualified and was fined $738.
