Eight residents were displaced after a fire tore through a Barrhaven townhouse early Friday morning.
Firefighters were called to the home at 238 Mountshannon Dr., near Longfields Drive and Woodroffe Avenue, for the blaze that was declared under control by 2:34 a.m.
Eight residents — six in the townhouse that caught fire and two in an adjoining unit — were displaced by the blaze.
The fire caused an estimated $400,000 in damage to the building and contents.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
