A resident suffered first-degree burns to the hands after a Friday evening fire in the city’s south end started in a kitchen and spread.
A family of six will be displaced.
Ottawa Fire Services responded to a fire at 56 Newport Cres., near Hunt Club and Conroy roads. The two adults and four children who live at the address were outside when fire crews arrived.
Damage was estimated at approximately $150,000.
