Somewhere in Alberta is a new multimillionaire.
Lottery officials said there is one winning ticket for the $50-million jackpot in Friday night’s Lotto Max draw. The ticket was sold at an unspecified location in the western province.
Three MaxMillions prizes of $1 million each were available in the draw, and one of those prizes was won by a ticket holder in Edmonton.
The big jackpot is the second won on a single ticket this year in Alberta. In February, Randall Rush of Lamont, Alta., collected $50 million he won in the Jan. 16 draw.
The top prize for next Friday’s Lotto Max draw will be approximately $12 million.
