The Ottawa Redblacks didn’t practise Monday, but the Canadian Football League team did manage to complete a couple of roster transactions.
Running back/returner Jock Sanders was released to make room for running back Travon Van. Both players are from the United States.
Sanders, a veteran CFLer, was signed July 1. He had three carries for four yards, five catches for 36 yards and 336 total yards in kick returns in five games as a Redblack.
Van, 24, played four years of U.S. college football at Marshall and Montana, compiling 1,645 rushing yards on 371 carries, 1,149 yards on 105 receptions and a total of 24 touchdowns.
The Redblacks (4-2) will resume practice Tuesday in preparation for Saturday’s road game against the Calgary Stampeders.
