Ottawa – Residents travelling through Little Italy and the Civic Hospital neighbourhoods have more travel options thanks to a new bridge connecting Hickory Street and Adeline Street. Until the bridge opened last week, both streets came to a dead end on opposite sides of the O-Train Trillium Line rail bed.
This bridge helps improve the connectivity to the rapid-transit network and to cycling facilities on Bayswater Avenue and Rochester Street.
This new pedestrian and cycling bridge is the first infrastructure project to be built with co-operative funding from the development community through a new innovative policy (Section 37 of the Planning Act). The budget for the project was $1.5 million
