PRESCOTT – An early-morning complaint about an alleged axe attack boomeranged on a 19-year-old Cornwall woman in Prescott Saturday.
Ontario Provincial Police were called to a King Street residence about 2 a.m. after receiving a 911 call about an alleged assault with an axe.
OPP say an investigation revealed the complainant was actually the one bearing the axe during a confrontation with another woman — and she had struck herself while swinging it, suffering the only injury of the altercation.
The woman was charged with assault with a weapon and will appear in Brockville court at a later date.
