Ontario Provincial Police charged an Ottawa woman with several offences after responding to reports of an out-of-control vehicle on Highway 401 on Sunday.
Officers with the Napanee detachment of the OPP were dispatched after reports of a vehicle being driven erratically on Highway 401 at Belleville around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The black Volkswagen convertible side-swiped a tractor-trailer and continued eastbound at varying speeds between 60 km/h and 120 km/h. Police located the car near the Marysville Road exit and performed a rolling road block to stop it.
Charged with impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample and failing to stop at the scene of an accident is Maureen Power, 50, of Ottawa. She is scheduled to appear in court in Napanee on September 15.
