It may be September, but Environment Canada says it sees no heat relief on the horizon for the capital region.
The federal agency has issued a heat warning for Ottawa, Gatineau and the Cornwall/Lancaster areas for Sunday and Monday.
Daytime temperatures are expected to reach or top 30 C, while evening temperatures aren’t expected to drop below 20 C.
To make matters even stickier, maximum “humidex values” are expected around 40 C both days.
The agency says high temperature readings should moderate by Tuesday to the mid-20s, but it is expected to remain quite humid.
So enjoy your long weekend, but avoid extended periods in direct sunlight and heat and keep yourself hydrated.
