One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a fire in a high-rise apartment building on Somerset Street West on Labour Day Monday.
Calls of smoke coming from 395 Somerset St. W. alerted Ottawa Fire Services to the blaze just after 8 p.m. Firefighters determined the blaze was located in an apartment on the 17th floor.
One male occupant was taken to hospital suffering from minor burns.
Somerset Street West was closed to traffic between Kent and Bank streets, said Fire Prevention Officer Marc Messier on Twitter.
An investigator was at the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
