I am a devops engineer at SafeNet (http://www.safenet-inc.com/, a Gemalto company). I am from SMSO team. My team is looking for a DevOps engineer at Ottawa Location. This is a permanent full time job. You will have an option of either working at office or from home. But you must live within Ottawa region, as our data centre is in Ottawa. Some of the requirements (not limited to):
1. hands-on experience with server/network hardware, installation, upgrade, configuration etc. (Dell PowerEdge, Equallogic SAN, Cisco Switches/Routers). We are not looking for in depth knowledge, but fair amount of knowledge to be confident in configuring them in production environment.
2. a balanced knowledge between Windows and Linux (ubuntu preferred) O/S administration. We need at least 7~10 years experience on both platforms.
3. solid knowledge and hands-on experience in deploying/supporting virtualization. hyper-v or other hyper-visors.
4. MS-SQL database support experience. (we don't need to DBA material, but a few years of direct support experience is required)
5. Tomcat, JAVA applets deployment, MySQL support, deployment automation (using ansible or other tools). at least 4 years of web server deployment/support in opensource platforms is needed.
6. Amazon Cloud. You need at least a year of intense experience with AWS cloud. we use it for most of deployment.
There are other requirements as well, but I wanted to cut the non-sense, be straight. You will need to balanced knowledge on all of above, and be comfortable of deploying or troubleshooting all above alone.
