Can I send TD bank check to them? Can they accept it?

Let your parent open an account in Bank of China. Then you can send them money from any bank here. The fee is around $45.00 (not quite remember). It's faster then personal check.

yes, any personal check will work so long as it is not an NSF check. But your parents must wait for 40 days(for USD) or 60 days(for non-USD currency including CAD) before they want to cash it out if your parents want to withdraw CAD or convert CAD to RMB using “现汇牌价”

tell them to ask local bank, I remember Bank of China does this.

write a check(any bank's check works), mail the check , after it's received, go to Bank of China, No fee at all!

要手续费的，忘了是1/1000还是2/1000，至少20RMB.

I sent a check to my parents last time, they got the check two weeks later, and got the money deposited in their account one month later.

The bank freeze the money for three months, so when my parent got the money, it's 4.5 months later.
