Gatineau Liberal candidate Steve MacKinnon claims to have the nifty gadget lead in the campaign, with interactive campaign posters.
Set up at bus stops and other prominent spots, these posters will carry a symbol that you scan with a smartphone. (The phone needs an app called Layar — correct with two As.)
Scanning the symbol connects your phone to a video message from the Liberals, and the party can change the message whenever it wants without changing the posters.
“It’s not peace in the Middle East,” MacKinnon said Thursday, but he still feels it’s a cool new election technology.
