Ottawa police are seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect in an Orléans bank robbery last week.

Police say a man carrying a handgun entered a bank branch in the 3400 block of Trim Road at about 7 p.m. Sept. 3.

The suspect pointed the gun at bank employees and handed over a plastic bag, demanding cash.

He was given an undisclosed amount of money and he fled.

It’s believed the suspect got into a red hatchback with a black roof rack, which took off south on Trim and seen turning east onto Colonial Road.

Police believe the suspect was in the area for several hours before the holdup.

The suspect is described as an English-speaking Caucasian, 25-30 years old, about six feet (183 cm) tall, a medium build.
