Ottawa Fire Services said no residents were home when a fire destroyed a two-storey home in North Gower early Saturday morning.
Callers alerted emergency services to flames visible at the detached home at 5835 Prince of Wales Dr. at about 3:45 am. Saturday morning. Firefighters had the working fire under control at about 4:04 a.m.. The blaze caused enough damage to make the house uninhabitable.
Damage was estimated at about $350,000 to the structure and contents.
An Ottawa Fire Investigator was expected to remain at the scene to determine the cause of the blaze through the morning; roads were not closed to traffic.
The occupants of the house were still not at the address at 7 a.m.
